A Word from the President

Aloha and welcome to The Original Glider Rides at historic Dillingham Field on the famed North Shore of O‘ahu. Experience the real beauty of flight and a bird’s eye view of the Pacific Ocean and the Waianae Mountain Range, made all the more enjoyable because you are able to communicate with your pilot at all times. Visibility from the cockpit is far superior from any other aircraft; and every seat is a window seat!

 Flying in a glider is one of the safest forms of aviation available to the recreational passenger, quite simply because there are so few mechanical parts in a sailplane. Gliders are so safe a 14-year-old may fly solo after the proper training. Also, there are no age limits for rides; children as young as three can fly and many guests are over 70 years old.

 With 37 years of service, The Original Gilder Rides has a flawless safety record and all pilots have FAA Commercial Ratings. Each flight is a totally different experience and we know yours will be an unforgettable experience. See you in the air!
